My Rome photo diary

Hi everyone! My recent trip to Rome was amazing and I wanted to show you guys what I got up to! Rome is my favourite city in the entire world and I am so glad I got to return with Kas.  It had been years since I went with my best friend so I was looking forward to going back to the eternal city! The weather averaged out to be 29°C every day we were there so it was a bit too hot for me but I managed to get around without getting too sunburnt.

On the first day we visited the Vatican City and of course, it is stunning.  It is a massive place so I didn’t get to see everything but we spent most of the day there.  We walked around the Vatican museum and spent a little time in the Sistine Chapel but sadly we didn’t have time to see St Peters Bascilla.  It shuts at 6 so we had to pick n choose what to do.  Means that I’ll have an excuse to go back the next time I’m in Rome!  I love art and sculptures so this was a great way to spend some time, especially as it was out of the scorching sun!

We visited my favourite place in Rome – the Trevi fountain. What a beautiful piece of artwork! I could see it a thousand times and still find it breath-taking.

Of course we visited the Colosseum, the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill! I find these buildings a complete wonder and I love that it is so steeped in history.

I really wanted to visit the Castel Sant'Angelo for the first time and it did not disappoint! I love angels and I really wanted to see the Archangel Michael statue up close.  All of the angel status were stunning but of course Michael was my favourite.   The whole castle is actually really interesting and its filled with art and historical artefacts, this was Kasims favourite thing he seen in Rome.  Once you reach the top you will see outstanding views of the city, a perfect photography moment!

One of our days consisted of walking around the city and just taking it easy.  We saw so much and I’m glad we had a slower day.  There is so many beautiful things to see in Rome so it’s impossible to do it all in 4 days but we did as much as we could. I am so happy we got to see the pyramid especially as it is a pretty unusual thing to do in Rome.

Of course we took advantage of the glorious food and we stuffed our faces with pasta, pizza and ice cream as often as we could!

My love for Rome is unrivalled and I already can’t wait to visit again.
