My 2018 Resolutions

It’s that time of year again!  We either overhaul our lives or we lie to ourselves and say that we will overhaul our lives.

I must admit, I am getting better at sticking to my resolutions.  I think that’s mainly because I set myself realistic goals and goals that I actually want to achieve.  I could stick to the usual type of resolutions like ‘I’ll lose weight and go to the gym 5 times a week’ but I know 100% that I’d never stick to it.

Last year I mainly wanted to look after myself a bit more and start cooking more fresh food instead of relying on lazy veggie food like toast and pasta.  I managed this and managed to try out a few new recipes – and I liked most of them!  I also wanted to try a kickboxing class – I tried it and loved it!  I much prefer it to boxing classes I’ve done in the past.

So what are my resolutions for 2018?

  1. Put more money into my savings. (in 2017 all of my spare money went to holidays and weekend breaks, sorry saving account!)
  2. Start a martial art class.  This is something I’ve wanted to do for a while; I think it’s time to bite the bullet.
  3. Do more for charity.  As it stands, I give money to a different animal charity every month when I get paid but I feel like I should be doing more.  Volunteering / fundraising maybe?
  4. Cook / eat more foods that I’d never normally try.  I am bad for looking at food and deciding I don’t like it, I need to kick that habit.
  5. Finally try and learn another language. This is the one thing that has been on my resolution list for years and I never do it.  I’ve made progress though, I have actually downloaded some Spanish and Italian beginners courses on Spotify.  Ill actually listen and learn in 2018 (hopefully).
What are your resolutions?  Do you think you will stick to them?
