Halfway through my honours year!

I can't believe that is me at the half way point of my 4th year. Madness!

So last semester was really busy and really, really difficult. I was studying 2 classes ( Disease and Infections) and this year I'm learning about therapeutic drugs and blood. All the while, trying to juggle my project.  My project is based on an antibody and laboratory work includes testing rat intestines with a range of chemicals to find the antibody.  Disgusting right?  Well so far, none of my experiments have gave me conclusive evidence that the antibody is present :( nightmare! So I hope this semester will go a little more smoothly.  Doubt it though!  In the past week 40 different experiments have been thrown in the bin because they didn't work, effectively wasting my time and a lot of money. So I think this semester will be even worse as I have 2 classes to study for, project work to do and I need to begin writing up my project.  Blah :(

So if I am not blogging as much I do apologise! I have been writing and scheduling posts though, so I hope to have enough to get me through till April.

I can't believe in 4 months I'll be finished!  Finished uni forever and I'll be an actual scientist!!  Madness.

When I graduate I can go into a variety of fields and most of them lead to laboratory work.  So maybe in the future I'll be the one testing your blood sample!  Who knows. I like blood work and viruses...  So I hope I get something in those fields.

Here are some pictures of the things I do at uni:

  8. ah this sounds amazing! I recently graduated with a masters in analytical and forensic science so have done similar blood work and worked with plenty of chemicals!
It's so interesting and I'd love to work in research, but you need some serious patience i think, so many wrong experiments would drive me mad!
