Art Exhibit :) Pharaoh: King of Egypt

My best friend knows how much I love ancient Egypt and I was so happy when she got me tickets to see a museum exhibition devoted to it for my birthday! It was held at Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum and I must say I really enjoyed myself.

I've been obsessed with ancient Egypt since I was 6 and I learned about it at school. At that age I could write my name and address in hieroglyphics... Geeky huh? I still love it and I really enjoy watching tv shows and reading books on the subject.

I enjoyed this day, really really enjoyed it, and even though I know it's not everyone's cup of tea I thought you might like to see some of my photographs! I took 150 that day so I won't put them all up haha.

How beautiful are these pieces?  The detail in everything, especially the stone amazes me.  Considering this occurred over 2000 years ago, it is astonishing.  We wandered around for two or three hours and it was a great wee day.

We walked around the public part of the museum too, which is a mix of taxidermy, paintings, sculptures, transport and history (recent and ancient).  I loved it!  Wish I could do things like this more often.

Do you like museums? Or any particular part of history?

  5. How lovely, I'm obsessed with all things Egyptian. A friend of mine went to Egypt and bought me some lovely things once, which included an Egyptian paper which had my name written in hieroglyphics and the image of Goddess Nekhbet, xoxo.
