A quick recap for my newer followers - I rescued a dog in June. She's a retired greyhound racer, 4 years old and appears to have been abused. At first when she came to my house she didn't play because she never knew how. Seriously, all of her life she has been ignored and used to make money. She is scared of everyone, especially strangers and starts shivering at loud noises. She didn't leave her bed for a month. She seemed sad all the time and we were all at a loss about what to do.
But, I am so so happy to let everyone know that she is finally coming out of her shell. A little.
She's still nervous and is only at ease with a handful of people but when she's around the people she trusts she is a total sweetheart. She runs to me when I walk in the door and actually wants attention now rather than shying away from it. She loves her toys now too! Still confused about the purpose of balls, but adores her teddies.
I am so so happy. I love seeing her personality come out and can't wait to see what the future has in store for her.
After Goldy was put down in February my heart was broken and I felt terribly lonely. My wee Blu has changed that. I still miss my best friend of 16 years but I'm slowly gaining a new one <3
Plus, doesn't she have the most gorgeous little face in the world?
