NARS 'Night Breed' Eye shadow Review

This black eye shadow is from NARS and the shade is called 'Night Breed'.
I bought it from Frasers and it cost £17.

This is pretty expensive for an eye shadow but as soon as I saw it I fell in love!  I was on the lookout for a black shadow, and this stood out from all the other blacks made by other brands as it has a little shimmer to it, which can be seen in the picture.

It is highly pigmented and and a little goes a long way.  If you really want a black that 'pops', then use a dampened brush to apply and the black colour it leaves behind is amazing.

Here are some swatches:
As you can see, there is a big difference between the wet and dry colour; I like the fact that it's so versatile!

I have used this loads of times and there is hardly a dent out of the box!  You really do get a lot for your money.  I like the fact that it isn't 'crumbly' like some shadows, it is quite tough actually.  The glitter bits don't fall down your face after a few hours wear either, so it wins points on that.  I like shimmery products but I like them on my eyes, not smeared across half of my face.

It is great for an all-over black look or to darken up other colours.  Obviously, its awesome for the smokey eye look but I have even blended it with bright colours, such as yellow, and it still works great.
I also use it as an eyeliner and it does a really good job!

I would repurchase this and I would like to try out some of the other shades in the range.

Star rating: 4/5
It loses a star for being £17, but apart from that I wouldn't fault it.

  4. That looks gorgeous! Definitely one of the nicest blacks I've seen. NARS shadows are pricey but for the quality it's definitely worth it. I'd recommend Coconut Grove, it's a darkened chocolate and it's the perfect colour to give sultry definition to simple looks :) x
